The FDA has just issued a warning on a rare but fatal malignancy related to breast implants. Some women with both silicone and saline breast implants have been diagnosed with malignancy, which is referred to as breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma or BIA-ALCL. The FDA advises women who have breast implants to become knowledgeable about the signs and symptoms of BIA-ALCL and to see their doctor if they have any concerns.
