Elevate the contours of your body

As you grow older, your body undergoes numerous changes. You may develop sagging skin in various parts of the body, such as the arms and thighs, and excess fat deposits. Furthermore, the accumulation of excess fat and skin may also obscure your muscles. Exercise and dieting can only go so far — they can’t tighten your skin tissues or remove stubborn fat deposits. Body contouring surgery addresses problem areas that diet and exercise cannot improve.

What is body contouring?

Body contouring surgery is a versatile set of procedures that can help patients achieve a more youthful, toned appearance. These procedures can be performed on the neck, arms, thighs, and lower body. In most cases, a body contouring surgery includes three essential elements — trimming away excess skin tissues, removing excess fat deposits, and tightening the muscles. Body contouring can be performed as a standalone procedure or in combination with other cosmetic procedures, such as liposuction.

Am I a suitable candidate for body contouring?

The best candidates for body contouring surgery are individuals who are in good physical health and have realistic expectations for the results of surgery. Patients should be at or near their ideal body weight and have loose, excess skin that has not responded to diet and exercise. If you are considering body contouring, please discuss your goals and expectations with Dr. Khan. He will perform a physical examination and review your medical history to determine if you are a good candidate for surgery.

What does body contouring include?

Arm Lift

An arm lift, also known as a brachioplasty, is a cosmetic surgery that removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms. The goal of an arm lift is to improve the appearance of the arms by creating a more toned and defined look. During the procedure, the surgeon will make an incision in the arm, from the armpit to the elbow. Then, the surgeon will remove the excess skin and fat. The incisions will be closed with stitches. This procedure is ideal for patients with excess flaps of skin underneath the upper arms.

Thigh Lift

A thigh lift, also known as a thighplasty, is a cosmetic surgery that can improve the appearance of the thighs by removing excess skin and fat and tightening the underlying tissues. During a thigh lift, the surgeon will make an incision in the skin of your upper thigh. The incision may be made in the crease between the thigh and groin, or it may be made along the inner thigh. After the incision is made, the surgeon will remove any excess skin and fat, tighten the remaining skin, and close the incision.

Lower Body Lift

A lower body lift is a body contouring procedure that can address multiple areas of the hips, thighs, and buttocks at once. It is a popular choice for patients who have undergone massive weight loss and now have excess skin and tissue in these regions. During a lower body lift, your surgeon will make incisions around the circumference of the lower body to remove excess skin and fat and tighten the underlying tissues. In some cases, liposuction may be used in conjunction with a lower body lift.
